Thanksgiving

                           The Meaning Of Thanksgiving

This not what I usually blog about, but this week I decided to post a special post. Since Thursday was Thanksgiving I wanna point out a couple things you probably didn't know about what Thanksgiving really meant. Thanksgiving began as a holiday until over 200 years later which is outrageous, I hadn't even known that. Thanksgiving became a holiday, because the Pilgrims wanted to celebrate to give thanks and that they arrived after their long Journey. They had a feast, and a festival with the Wampanoag Indians. The feast had no turkey, no pumpkin pie, and no potatoes. Which all started this holiday, like all other holidays there was something that had started it.
Sara Josepha Hale, had started it, she made it a National holiday. She also waged for on a 30 year campaign. She had also made recipes for pumpkin pie, turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, bread, and mashed potatoes. In the middle of the Civil War president Abraham Lincoln announced that we would celebrate Thanksgiving on the final Thursday of November every year. We now have feasts with our family, and friends. We also now have parades, festivals, parties, etc.
